While a majority of parents surveyed by Comcast believe that it's important to have "the Internet talk" with their kids, not all engage in active conversations with their children to discuss online security risk or appropriate online behavior. They need guidance on how to approach these topcis. That's why Comcast is providing access to resources developed by The Mediatrician, Dr. Michael Rich, at the Center on Media and Child Health at Children's Hospital Boston. He has developed conversation starter guides to help parents approach these critical topics at the right level for their kids. Easy to use and based in research, these guides can help parents start–and continue–the new Talk.

The Cyber Safety Challenge was developed to get parents, teens and kids to start a dialogue about Internet safety, social networking, online threats and what they can do to protect themselves and their computers.

We provide 2 differnet Cyber Safety Challenges based on your child's age. We recommend downloading the appropriate PDF and readinging through it with your child. There are spaces to sign if you would like to print you agreement and place it close to your home electronics as a reminder for both you and your child.

Set Parental Controls with the Xfinity Stream App

Learn how to access the Xfinity Stream portal, register your computer and use the portal's main features. Understand the differences between programs you can watch while connected to your in-home Xfinity network vs. another out-of-home network.

Parental Controls allow you to limit what your child can see when browsing the Xfinity Stream portal, as well as restrict the programs they can view.

Learn how to set up Parental Controls to limit the programs that your child can watch through the Xfinity Stream app. We'll show you how to set up Parental Controls using the Apple version of the mobile app. The procedures are essentially the same for the Android mobile app, but the steps or screens may be slightly different.

Set Up XFINITY TV online Parental Controls

Parental Controls PIN and restrictions will be shared between XFINITYTV.com and the XFINITY TV Remote mobile app and the XFINITY Player mobile app.

You may need to read the 'COPPA Opt-In Information' and select if any of your secondary usernames are under 13. If you wish to, you can click the 'skip this form' link and you will be taken directly to set up parental controls. If you have secondary users who are under 13, read through the information and click Continue to Form. Select which secondary users are under 13 and enter your 'Digital Signature' and check the box that you agree on the information stated. Click Submit.

  1. Sign in to My Account as the primary user.
  2. Click Users & Preferences
  3. In your user tab, click XFINITY TV Online Parental Controls.
  4. Click the Set PIN button under 'PIN Management'**
  5. Set and confirm your Parental Controls PIN and click Save.
  6. Click OK on the 'Confirmation' screen.

How to manage content on XFINITY TV:

  1. Click on the XFINITY TV Online Parental Controls Link
  2. Enter your 4 digit PIN to continue
  3. Ensure that Set Online Parental Controls is turned to ON
  4. Set Restrictions: You can control what shows and movies are available for users on your account to view online. These restrictions block certain entertainment options based on their ratings. For example, if you wish to restric access to R-rated movies, click the lock on the corresponding button. You can always change these preferences by entering your Parental Controls PIN and selecting Lock or Unlock.
  5. You can also set restrictions by specific network. Control what channels are available for users on your account to view online. For example, if you wish to restrict access to HBO, just click the lock icon to block this channel from being shown. You can always change these preferences by entering your Parental Controls PIN and selecting Lock or Unlock.

If you forget your PIN, you can call Comcast customer service to reset it.
